Texas State Requirements for CNAs
In Texas, candidates must complete 100 hours of classes before being eligible to take the certification exam. Of the 100 hours, 60 hours are classroom and 40 hours are in a classroom setting.
Potential candidates from other states or have been in the military may qualify to take the examination if they have had 100 hours of classes. Nursing students and recent nursing graduates may also be eligible to take the test if they are currently enrolled in a program or have completed an LPN/RN program.
