Wyoming State Requirements for CNAs

Candidates for the CNA Registry must undergo 85 hours of training at a state approved training program. Within this, 70 hours are classroom training and 15 hours are clinical training.

Wyoming CNA Exam Details

The Wyoming Nursing Assistant Competency Evaluation is administered by Prometric. The exam has both a written/oral section and a clinical section. The written section of the exam is 60 questions, which must be completed in a 90 minute time window. The Clinical Skills test will test on a variety of skills. Five skills in total will be tested, with two skills being indirect care and hand washing. Additionally, three other skills will be chosen at random. A sample of these are:

  • Dress a resident who has a weak arm
  • Change resident’s position to a supported side-lying position
  • Provide mouth care to a resident who has teeth Change bed linen while the resident remains in bed
  • Provide resident with passive range of motion (ROM) exercises to one hip, knee, and ankle
