The Georgia Nurse Aide Registry, or Georgia CNA Registry, requires applicants to complete a state-approved CNA program (80 hours) and pass the NNAAP exam. Credentia and the Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation Service (NACES) administers the exam for the state of Florida. The exam entails a written/oral knowledge text in English or Spanish and skill evaluation test in English only. Applicants have three attempts at either of the tests before they have to re-train to be approved for re-examination.

Lapsed Nurse Aide Certificate

Nurse aides who have allowed their certificates to expire, must re-test at an approved site before they will be granted renewed certification. However, if three or more years have elapsed since your certification has expired, you must complete a state-approved CNA program again and re-take and pass the NNAAP exam to get recertified.

The CNA schools displayed in this section offer tuition-based programs.

CNA Certification Transfer by Reciprocity

A nurse assistant certified in a different state must verify their certification prior applying for reciprocity certification. Their certificate must be current and in good standing in the state they are certified in order to qualify for certification through the process of reciprocity. However, a minimum of 8 hours of paid nursing-related activities is required for all reciprocity candidates.
